Join our regular Tuesday night kayak club and paddle regularly this summer. We’ll explore sea and inland water up and down the coast, every Tuesday night. You’ll be picking up skills, trading tips and enjoying the water all summer long. Our main venue is Cullercoats, but we’ll be visiting new beaches and shorelines too. Kayak Club is for adults and parent-accompanied over 14s.
How does it work? Kayak Club is open to anyone who has had at least one kayaking lesson and mastered the basics. You’ll paddle as often as you like, picking up tips from other paddlers and the coaches as you go, but mostly just enjoying kayaking on the North Sea. Each session is accompanied by a qualified instructor.
When and where is it? Every Tuesday night in summer. Normally we meet between 18.00 and 18.30 at Cullercoats Bike & Kayak for about 1.5-2 hours paddling.
What’s the cost? Sessions cost just £15 each time you attend, that includes your kit hire. It's just £5 to attend if you have your own kayak and wetsuit.
Kayak Club On Tour!
During summer we'll be heading off in search of new waters to explore on Wednesday evenings. We of course supply all the equipment and our usual instructor team, so you just need to get yourself to the start point with swimwear and a towel. If transport is an issue, let us know as we can help arrange a lift share. Note: these events are only open to those who have previously attended kayak club, this ensures we have confident kayakers on the water. Upcoming trips are:
- Wed 1 August, 6.30pm: Warkworth Castle & Amble (River Coquet)
- Wed 22 August, 6.30pm: Durham City (River Wear)
If you need to use our equipment, book as a regular. Please only book a pro session if you are bringing all your own kit.
