Throughout the winter months, our 4-person, log-fired Finnish sauna tent is available for you to hire at Cullercoats Bay.
Take your wild swimming experience to the next level and indulge in some hot and cold therapy by the North Sea. Your session includes a sauna assistant who will outline how to enjoy an authentic Finnish sauna experience and will remain available throughout to keep the log fire burning hot.
Suitable for groups of up to 4 people per session.
Price: £52 per group, for 45 minutes, including welcome and safety briefing.
Venue: Cullercoats Bay, next to the Dove Marine Laboratory. Suitable for: Adults and accompanied children ages 16+.

Who is this session suitable for?
People who are looking to sauna on the beach. Typically this would be combined with periods of cold water immersion in the North Sea. Seasoned swimmers may enjoy going in the water in shorts or swimming costume. If this is your first time, you can also hire a wetsuit from us too so that you can slowly acclimatise to the water. You can add this on during the booking process.
Where and when do I meet the guide?
We have attached the arrival and end times of your tour onto the booking invoice as a handy reminder because we know you might be booking months in advance and so you can make plans for the rest of your day around this experience.
Your sauna will be waiting at the bottom of the north ramp in Cullercoats Bay, keep an eye out for our flag and the green sauna tent as the location is tide dependant.
What do you provide?
Savotta Finnish Tent Sauna with log fire.
Lava rocks and water to create steam in the sauna.
Unlimited kiln dried logs to keep the fire hot.
A sauna assistant who remains nearby throughout. They will tend the fire for you.
What do I need to bring?
Your swimwear or a wetsuit depending on your preference. Wetsuit hire is also available.
Big towel or changing robe for discreet changing.
Warm clothes, woolly socks and a hat for after.
