Today has been a very exciting day of negotiation with suppliers. It has not been easy finding suppliers who are willing to deal with a new company, but thankfully the UK distributor for Cannondale Bikes is willing to play ball, as is homegrown UK manufacturer Pashley. Cannondale have a long history of producing excellent bikes so I will be proud to supply them to my customers. I am also confident that I can get the parts and service I will need to keep them on the road for a long time. I must admit it has challenged my local purchasing policy, but some things are hard to get your hands on without doing business with the big guys.
However the real boon came in securing a deal with Pashley. If you have not seen their range before you must check them out online. Pashley make beautiful hand-crafted machines, often in retro styles and terrific paint jobs.
I am paying a premium to be able to offer Pashley bikes to my customers. But why? My hope is that people who have an old bike in the shed, who may not see the value in renting a bike, might be tempted to splash out to rent a Pashley. These bikes offer something more than a basic A to B ride. They are fun! Hopefully the fun factor might generate some rentals from locals who fancy taking a spin on a real bobby dazzler!
Also the colour scheme on the Tube Rider is surely a sign. We love coral orange, if we could we would paint all of our bikes that colour!
Please leave comments and suggestions regarding the fleet choice at the bottom of the page. I am always keen to get a bit of feedback on my decisions from the local cycling fraternity, don't hold back.
