Our Coast
Cullercoats

This is the place we call home. It's a beautiful deep bay with steep cliffs to three sides. This provides calm, sheltered water which is ideal for learning to kayak, SUP or for a relaxed paddle around the bay. Cullercoats Village is also a great little jump off for exploring by bike. We are right between the attractions of Whitley Bay & Tynemouth, on National Cycle Network Route 1 and just a mile from the end of the Coast 2 Coast. Cullercoats has a long history as a fishing port and is notable as being the temporary home of Winslow Homer, whose paintings of the village are still on display in the Smithsonian Institute, Washington DC.

Tynemouth

Tynemouth is 1.5 miles south of Cullercoats. Its historic buildings, dramatic views and award-winning beaches attract visitors from around the world. The best beach is Longsands, over a mile long and the ideal spot for surf kayaking. The heart of the town, known by residents as "The Village", has popular coffee-shops, pubs and restaurants.

Whitley Bay

Whitley Bay is 1 mile north of Cullercoats. It was once the premier tourist town in the North East, but now it's a little quieter but still charming. You can see its tourism heritage as it has wide seafront promenades. They are now shared user cycle lanes, so that people can enjoy traffic-free rides along the coast.
