Sunrise SUP

The coastline at first light is magical. The wildlife stirs, the water laps at the shore, there is a slight chill in the air as you wait for the sun to rise. It's the perfect time to explore. We’ll guide you through the basics, then head out just beyond the pier walls for the optimum sunrise view. Your guide will provide hot drinks for your enjoyment as you relax on your board and take in the sun appearing over the horizon.

Highlights typically include: watching the sunrise over the sea, watching the sea birds foraging on the shore, and hot drinks on the boards.

Price: £59 per person.
Suitable for: Adults and accompanied children ages 16+.

Did the sunrise paddle. Friendly welcome and everyone in the group was great. We paddled out and just as the sun rose a pod of dolphins appeared; they eventually came about fifty feet from us and stayed for a good twenty mins. Highly recommended experience. The kit was all provided.

FAQs

Where and when do I meet the Guide?

We have attached the arrival and end times of your tour onto the booking invoice as a handy reminder because we know you might be booking months in advance and so you can make plans for the rest of your day around this experience.

You’ll meet your guide just outside the RNLI Lifeboat Station in Cullercoats Bay where you will be getting changed into your wetsuit. We recommend coming ready with your shorts or swimming costume on under your clothes. CBK changing tents will be available should you require privacy.

What will I see and do?

We’ll meet you at the beach at first light, where you’ll find our top class SUP’s waiting for you. After changing, a short brief and warm up, we’ll head to the water’s edge and launch our Paddleboards. Your guide will run through the essential Paddleboarding skills you’ll need to enjoy the experience. Once we’re ready, we’ll head out of the bay and enjoy the sunrise on the water, before taking Cullercoats Bay and practising skills when the bay is at its quietest. This is also the perfect chance to have a peaceful sea swim, before returning to the shop to get changed and warm up.
