The drama of the Northumbrian coastline is unrivalled and there is no finer way to see than on your bike. This 45 mile day ride is perfect for those looking for a very scenic challenge.
Join Cullercoats Bike & Kayak's experienced cycle guides on this tour of the coast between Craster and Cullercoats. Our transport will whisk you and your bike from Cullercoats to the stunning little coastal village of Craster, famed for its kippers! From there we head south on the cliff-top paths of rural Northumberland, visiting a number of quiet beaches and villages off the beaten path. Lunch is taken at The Drift Cafe, situated at the south end of the dramatic Druridge Bay and a popular haunt with cyclists. Then it's onward though the old mining communities of SE Northumberland, with time for photos at local landmarks at Woodhorn, Blyth and St Mary's Island. We end the tour back at Cullercoats Bike & Kayak with a well earned coffee and cake.
This is a day ride. We aim for a pace of 8-10 miles per hour and expect the ride to be completed in 6-7 hours including stops and lunch.
Terrain: Some hilly sections but mostly flat
Bike Type: Hybrids with knobbly tyres and mountain bikes. No road bikes.
Distance: 45 miles
