Coasteering hits Cullercoats

Cullercoats is famous for its caves, piers and rocky shores. Plus we have the wreck, lagoon and Crab Island just around the point at Brown’s Bay. This adds up to ideal terrain for a spot of Coasteering!

What is Coasteering you say? It’s s a blend of rock-hopping, shore-scrambling, swell-riding, cave-exploring and pier-jumping for the ultimate aquatic adventure. In our quest to give you new ways to get salty right here on the doorstep, CBK have spent six months pioneering an exhilarating tour of the two bays for you to get involved in this summer. We’ve been reccying, training, reccying some more and now we’re ready to hit the water.

Our Reefs & Coves tour departs from Cullercoats Bike & Kayak, so it’s really easy to get here for your action packed half-day in the sea. We’re pretty certain this is the only place in Britain you can be in the city centre at midday and Coasteering by 12.30!

You must give it a try, you won’t believe the terrain that’s right here on the doorstep, the wildlife is pretty awesome too, so bring a mask or goggles with you to really see what’s happening just beneath the waves.
