The Van is Cullercoats Bike & Kayak's dedicated cycle and kayak support vehicle. Our 2014 Mercedes Vito (LWB) can comfortably carry six bikes and three kayaks. We have towing facilities too and can provide trailers that will take a further eight bikes, or eight kayaks.
We use The Van for our longer tours and off-site activities. However we can also help you with your next trip. Here are some examples of how The Van can work for you.
Cycle Transport
Many trains can now only accommodate one or two bikes. If you are part of a bigger group, why not put your bikes and luggage on The Van then we'll meet you at your destination whilst your relax and enjoy your train journey. That way you can be sure your bikes will be transported safely to the start point of your journey without the stress of booking cycle spaces on the train. Prices start from just 50p per mile for The Van, 75p per mile for The Van + Trailer.
Kayak Transport
Kayaks are difficult to transport due to their size and shape, most cars will accommodate a maximum of two boats. With The Van we can deliver up to 11 kayaks to a destination of your choosing. If you are planning a one way voyage, this is a great solution as we'll carry your equipment for you, leaving you to focus on transporting your family, friends and personal belongings. Prices start from just 50p per mile for The Van, 75p per mile for The Van + Trailer.
Cycle Repair Pick Up & Drop Off
When you book your next cycle service or repair with CBK, ask us about our pick up and delivery service. It will save you having to take the front wheel off, prevents the risk of damage to your vehicle and ensures the bike is safe during it's journey to and from the store. Prices as follows:
- NE26/NE30: £3 one way, £5 both ways
- Rest of North Tyneside: £4 one way, £7 both ways
- Newcastle and SE Northumberland: £5 one way, £9 both ways

Mobile Cycle Repair Service - Fleet Services
Our experienced cycle mechanics are all trained to a minimum of Cytech L2 or equivalent. For large fleets, our mobile cycle mechanics will visit you anywhere in North East England in The Van and carry out the majority of the servicing work on-site. Anything that they identify as requiring more in-depth work can be safely transported to our workshop and returned to you once the work is complete. The Van provides a perfect solution for your cycle fleet servicing requirements.
