Tyne Bridges Tour

Famed for its seven bridges spanning the steep Tyne Gorge, the Quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead is best experienced from the water. There is no jostling for position here as you quietly paddle beneath the bridges, snapping pictures and enjoying the view as you go. Let our professional and qualified river guides show you the sights of Newcastle and Gateshead from a whole new perspective and explain some of the history behind this great northern river and city. Your guide will also help you out with paddling tips and techniques as you go.

The Route

Cullercoats Bike & Kayak have been running this tour since 2014, each and every one has been a sell out.

The total length of the activity is 3 hours, with around 2 hours spent on the water. The timings for this tour are determined by the tides so sorry if they seem a little peculiar! The start and end point for this tour will be St Peter's Marina, near the Ouseburn (post code NE6 1HX). The facilities at the marina are excellent, including toilets, hot showers and a waterfront pub and restaurant. Our route takes us up river from the marina, through the city centre and returning back downriver to our start point.
