Do I have to provide a parental consent form?
Yes, we need one for each child who participates. You can download it here. Please return all completed forms to Cullercoats Bike & Kayak at least 14 days ahead of your event. Forms used by the school or local authority will not be an acceptable substitute.
What if one of my pupils can’t swim?
For coasteering, stand up paddleboarding and kayaking under 18s have to wear a buoyancy aid, so being able to swim is not a requirement. For these activities we have a guide ratio of 1:8 so pupils will be closely supported and supervised. When surfing, body boarding or doing lifeguard trails, pupils will be in shallower water, allowing them to build water confidence.
Do pupils need to provide their own wetsuits?
No, for all of our activities we provide all the specialist equipment that your group will need. A full kit list can be accessed in our FAQs for parents.
Do you have equipment to fit all sizes?
Yes, we have a wide range of sizes in all of our equipment. Before you head out on your activities our guides will ensure that all equipment fits correctly and make any necessary changes.
Where can I find our more about your instructor team?
Our instructors are a mix of full-time staff here at CBK and freelance professional instructors. We have both male and female instructors on our team, from a range of different age groups. Browse our Meet the Team page for more information.
